Ding Yi



Ding Yi is an Assistant Professor of Social Policy at the Center for China Fiscal Development, the Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE, China). She is a member of the China Association of Social Security (CAOSS), and an editorial board member of Green Book of China Social Security System (Social Science Academic Press, China) since 2015. 

Dr. Ding’s research interests include health financing and healthcare reform, long-term care policy and work-family balance, and minimum income protection policy and poverty, with a special focus on China. She is currently working on a number of papers on the policy process and the dynamics of long-term care policy in China. She has paid particular attention to work-family balance dimension of China’s elder-care policy formation, trying to understand how and why Chinese developmental social policy regime tackle the new social risks. Her research has been published in academic journals in social policy, such as The Journal of Poverty and Social Justice, and Social Security Studies.

Dr. Ding’s research received grants from the Ministry of Finance, and National Social Science Fund of China. And she also worked as Chinese social policy expert for international organizations, such as European Commission (Seventh Framework Program), and the French Embassy in China. 

Dr. Ding earned her B.A. in Economics, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Social Policy from Renmin University of China. She did postdoctoral research on social and health care reform in China in Asia Research Center, London School of Economics and Political Science.
